Right to Information (RTI) Act & Rural Development
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PARD believes education and freedom of information for the poor people becomes crucial allowing them to take charge of their lives by participating in decision-making and by challenging corrupt and arbitrary actions at all levels. The Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005, enacted by Government of India is aimed to bring in transparency, responsibility and accountability in the functioning of public authorities in the implementation of government sponsored programs and welfare schemes to accelerate the development process.
leftIn realizing the importance of RTI Act, PARD has spearheaded the cause to promote the awareness of RTI act among the illiterate rural people in the region since it is one of the means of the common man for his development. As a first step, (PARD) has organized a Seminar followed by Public Meeting on “Right to Information (RTI) Act & Rural Development” on 29th October, 2011 (Saturday) at Yernagudem Village, Devarapalli Mandal, West Godavari District. PARD welcomes to join with likeminded NGOs and Agencies to empower the local communities to exercise the provisions of RTI Act for their development.
