Mamidi Mariamma, a resident of Yernagudem village, had long dreamt of learning how to sew. Despite her determination, she struggled to find anyone locally who could teach her the skills she needed. Over time, this unfulfilled desire left her disheartened, and she reluctantly gave up on the idea, believing it to be beyond her reach. However, everything changed when she learned about a free sewing program offered by PARD INDIA, with CSR support from M/s Jayam Solutions Private Ltd. in her village, through the “POWER of SEWING” project.
Encouraged by this opportunity, Mariamma immediately enrolled in the program. The training covered a wide array of skills, ranging from basic hand stitches to advanced sewing techniques and patternmaking.
