As a dedicated READ teacher at MPPS No. 11 in Nallajerla, Ms. Peddada Spandana has witnessed remarkable transformations in her students, thanks to the READ (Rural Education and Development) Program.
When she began her journey with READ, she focused on improving students’ basic skills such as speaking, reading, and writing. Over time, Spandana observed a visible improvement in children’s confidence, communication abilities, and overall school participation. The school administration also noted a boost in the academic performance and engagement levels of the students.
Parents, who were once worried about their children's future, are now happy and confident seeing their children's regular attendance, better retention in studies, and interest in skill development. They feel assured that their children are receiving a quality education that prepares them for the real world.
Spandana has also noticed that students who were once shy and hesitant are now coming forward to speak in public, participate in school activities, and express their dreams openly. Many students have started aspiring to become teachers, doctors, and engineers – dreams that seemed distant before joining the program.
The READ program has not only enriched academic learning but has also instilled in children a sense of identity, motivation, and self-belief. Spandana suggests continued efforts in parental engagement, improving collaboration, and expanding support systems to further strengthen the impact of the program.
She expresses her heartfelt gratitude to PARD INDIA for the opportunity to be part of a movement that is changing young lives in rural India.
